Video Guidelines

(Last updated: 2013-04-17)

Thank you for watching Ham Nation, and your interest in submitting a video for the show.

Our goal, on Ham Nation, is to show high-quality videos that can be enjoyed both by amateur radio operators, and those who are currently unlicensed, but are interested in getting an amateur radio license.  To this end, before submitting a video for inclusion in the show, please take a look at the guidelines, below, and determine if your video meets our requirements.

Part One -Your video...

·         MUST be at most 5 minutes in length. A video that is 3-5 minutes long is preferred, as it fits into the format of the show.

·         MUST have some kind of story-line.

·         MUST be visually interesting to those watching it. As you edit your video, be critical and honest about it - ask yourself, "Would 10 strangers, who have an interest in amateur radio, want to watch it from beginning to end?" If the answer is "No", then you have more editing to do!

·         MUST be interesting to those just listening to the audio. Use voice-overs during long segments where what's happening on the screen is not obvious to those just listening. If you're pointing the camera at something, describe it for those just listening to the audio podcast.

·         SHOULD be of general interest to the amateur radio community. Equipment reviews, specific modes of operation (CW, RTTY, ATV etc), Field Day, special events, etc, are all acceptable.

·
